  • Manual Therapy

    Manual Therapy helps to improve joint range of motion, tissue extensibility, joint and soft tissue mobilization or manipulation, induce relaxation, control pain and reduce soft tissue swelling and movement restriction. Soft tissue massage , joint mobilization, manipulation form integral components of manual therapy and many conditions may be treated using this technique.  These techniques may be used in conjunction with other methods of treatment such electrotherapy and exercise therapy.  

  • Sports Rehabilitation

    Sports injuries result from acute (fresh) trauma or repetitive stress injuries associated with sporting activities. Sports injuries may affect bones or soft tissue (ligaments, muscles, tendons). Dance injuries are also considered as sports injuries and much of the treatment and preventive measures utilized in sports injury rehabilitation are applied to dance-related injuries. Many types of injuries that affect athletes may also occur in manual workers such as builders or other manual trades. The principles of sports therapy may be applied in the treatment of most common musculoskeletal injuries (injuries effecting bone, muscles, ligaments and tendons).

  • Heat Therapy

    A very effective therapeutic modality which warms u tissues to increase circulation in the area.  It aids healing and decreases muscle spasm.  There are various forms of heat therapy: superficial heat therapy such as hot packs or deep tissue heating such as shortwave therapy or inductothermy.  

  • In Patient Rehabilitation

    Inpatient rehabilitation is the latest addition to our services.  We are now offering individual private rehabilitation rooms for injured persons to benefit from intensive rehabilitation and achieve optimal recovery within the shortest possible time frame.    

  • Orthopedic Therapy

    Orthopaedic conditions consist of any bone, muscle, ligament or tendon related problems such as  fractures, ligament, muscle sprains / tears, tendon tears, arthritis, cartilage injuries.  Physiotherapy uses a wide array of treatment methods to help people with orthopaedic problems return to normal function. Our services include therapy for shoulder fractures; arthroscopic surgery for shoulders, knees and ankles; total knee and hip replacements; cruciate ligament repairs; and orthotics.

  • Spinal Therapy

    Neck, thoracic, and low back pain all classified under the term back pain fall under spinal therapy.  This area consists of the rehabilitation of such problems utilising all of the services mentioned within this website.  This team works very closely with local spinal surgeons and pain specialists to achieve the best possible outcome attempting to avoid surgery through the use of exercise therapy. The conditions we treat include disc prolapses, spinal arthritis, spinal fractures, unstable spines and sciatica. We also offer rehabilitation post spinal surgery.

  • Electrophysical Therapy

    This form of treatment consist of various modalities such as ultrasound, laser, various forms of electrical currents, magnetic therapy and shockwave therapy  all of which are used for the purposes of evaluation, treatment and prevention of injuries. These modalities generate physiological effects at the cellular level of our tissues all of which serves to maintain and optimize health. List of electrotherapy modalities we offer include interferential, Russian currents, TENS, Ultrasound, Inductthermy, shortwave diathermy, Magnetotheray, laser therapy and iontophoresis. 

  • Biofeedback

    At PhysioPoint we are equipped with biofeedback units which allow us to show how one is progressing with their injuries.  Various diagnostic ultrasound units are used to show individuals the state of their injury as would have been verified by the radiologist and show how progress is being made.  We also use this form of biofeedback to teach people to recruit specific muscles within the body such as the core muscle within the back for optimum stabilization in this area.

    This section has been active for many years and involves the provision of training to company employees on posture analysis, exercise therapy and injury prevention.  Some companies which have benefitted from these services include Farsons plc, TOLY Products Malta, BOV, CCBill, Casa Antonia amongst others.

  • Home Visits

    Domiciliary physiotherapy treatment may be provided within the persons home setting for people who have problems in mobility and find it difficult to get to the clinic. For this reason we offer the possibility of sending out one of our physiotherapists for such a service. 

  • Injury Prevention

    Preventing injuries is the ultimate scope of good screening.  At PhysioPoint we use various screening tests and equipment to identify potential problem areas such as neck pain and low back pain due to bad posture.

Together with the client the nutritionist discusses the health goals or medical needs. The nutritionist can then make recommendations and put together meal plans.
